The magic of the “magical words” of facebook

What’s the 1st thing that comes to your mind when I say that this is a beautiful pic why don’t you share it with our whole group? Sharing it on Facebook? It’s an amazing piece of art, why don’t you put it on my wall? Surely it’s the fb wall that will strike your mind and not the wall of your room which could also be a possibility. If I say update your status then it’s not necessary that I am talking about the fb update. It’s actually the grave impact of social media on us which has made our thinking unidirectional. The broader prospects of thinking are tapering.

Words such as update, status, like, wall, poke, post, reply are just linked to the virtual life and its existence in our routine life is fading or probably losing its originality. Social media since past 5 yrs. has evolved as a medium giving young people a new interface to interact and communicate with the world. Social media websites have become ubiquitous. Words commonly used in our daily lives have now become the most important or say “magical words” of social websites and technology has raised the amount of free speech of such words to a newer platform.

There was a time when voting was a term used for electing political parties but now it’s more recurrently used as voting for the best program or movie on a facebook page. The word poke no longer exists with its inventive meaning. If we talk about relationship status then we can’t think beyond committed or single. Social websites have even evaded the concept of calling. Now it’s just a message “online aaja” that says it all and then starts the communication process in the virtual world.

The other day when I was online on facebook I read a friend’s status saying, “I luv fb coz writin on others wall has been my hobby since I ws 6.” It shows the different ways in which words are now interpreted by people after the evolving of social websites. The scenario has undeniably been altered leaving a profound impact on the daily lives of the people providing them with a newer and wider platform to express.

My learnt lesson!

Marriage; a place to be for people to flaunt on their times, a place for relatives to meet each other and for the bride and groom.

My friends and I happen to come across one such wedding and we felt the sudden urge to be in there, but then the situation described above had no significance in there, meaning we were not known to anyone there, and we wanted to have something that we have never tried b4.

We entered the place with much anticipation and the fear of being caught but then stars where at our side and we had the fun filled visit to the place, all of us who were, this was the first time for us to reach to grand retreat without any formal invitation and formal dress, but then with passage of time that we have gathered great courage to eat to our hearts content and then leave as pride individuals of having done something that is not wrong.

The more terrible thing that happened with me was the kind of dress I had put on. The floaters (on top of that I had a fight and they broke "ALAS!") but then I saw a few people who were there wearing the same and on top of that I was the one who was exposed to the sponsors of the party and I had nice interaction with them.

It was that day and now when I write this entry I have already visited a few of the parties like this and motivate my leftover friends to go there and visit such parties once in there life time.

When Patience of a 74-Year Old was Tested, He Proceeded to Become the Responsible Son..

Motive of bringing a strong Lokpal into existence was not only to control corruption but to also uproot it from the origin. The nation lost faith in the government ever since all fraud and graft scandals came into light. It further lost faith in its “ability” to choose correct leaders when it realized that the elected people had kept the Bill pending since 1969.

All these elected politicians did, in favor of the nation, was bringing out opposition’s scandals into limelight and criticize. It didn’t get a way away with it. But none of them worked harder on ensuring that the Bill reaches its terminal, to prevent further scandals. They were selfish enough to think that the Bill will throw them off the power. Had they functioned their role earlier, a 74 year old common man wouldn’t have to step into the frame and ensure that his nation is a corruption free economy. Why did half of the population felt the need of stepping into the power to teach Government a lesson that needed to be taught years back? With leaders filling their bank accounts with golds and platinum and refilling their fuel tanks with petrol, they drained the earnings of the common man. They water their plants with branded mineral water but failed to fulfill their promise of upraising slum children with clean and adequate drinking water.

With such miser leaders who couldn’t spend their pocket money worth lakhs but are ready to overspend the hard-earned savings of the population, the nation has been defamed all over the world. The scandals like Bofors, CWG scam, Adarsh Scam, 2G scam etc. have made it impossible for the world to trust India in terms of any monetary matters. With such criticism of “Mother India” somebody had to come forward as her patriotic son who could not only throw away the corrupt, but also ensure that further generations do not get exploited. Despite of cheap revelations of the corrupt leaders, the government is still not ashamed in saying that they will not draft the Bill as per the demand of the people; they’ll draft it in a way it is convenient for them.

Lokpal became a mere joke in Parliament for a period of 43 years, where it was tossed from one table to another, from one party to another, all busy in amending provisions which would save their name in scandals. Yet now, the government has promised to work sincerely and honestly on it. It won’t. All of us know. So it was time for a 74 year old hero to represent public and prove that the nation is not fool to stay silent on their impish carelessness, but is strong enough to sit on a collective fast for merely 10 days and make changes in the Bill, empowered with democracy!

Drums of heaven

We always complaint about things we don't have and problems we are facing in our life. For us those problems are very serious and are needed to be taken care off as soon as possible. I'll give you my own example to support my previous statement, for me currently my biggest problems are low attendance, assignments, to get new camera lenses, etc and these are very serious problems for me.

But for some people to get food, shelter, cloth , educating their children, etc are biggest challenges in their life.

In front of them my problems is like ant standing in front of an elephant.

I came across one such family near Rajiv Chawk metro station. I was clicking photographs in CP and saw a small boy with a plastic drum hanging around his neck and was playing it with a huge smile. I started clicking his photographs suddenly a lady came and asked me what I was doing. She turned out to be his mother, i explained her that I''m a student and this is what I do.
Ravi with his drum.

I asked her generally about the drum hanging around her son's neck. She replied that he always wear this drum around his neck and takes it everywhere with him.
When I asked that boy the reason behind it he replied that he wants to be a musician and this is the only instrument he has and therefore cannot afford to lose it.
I was stunned by his reply, a boy of around 6 or 7 years old understands the value of things he has.
It is rightly said that we only understand the importance of things when we don't have them.
